Die “Grande Dame” der Weinkritik hat schon vor zwei Jahren unseren Riesling Gutswein zum “wine of the week” gekürt. Heute dreht sich in London alles um Spätburgunder aka Pinot Noir.
Und zwar gerade auch um “normale” Weine:
15.5 points – ESTATE Pinot Noir
16.5 points – ESSENHEIM Pinot Noir “Limestone”
“Braunewell is an interesting Rheinhessen producer that made a Riesling chosen as wine of the week in 2015. Our picture shows Stefan and bespectacled Christian Braunewell in a Riesling vineyard, but this tasting suggested they were pretty good red wine producers too. The better Braunewell example, at £16.95 from Lea & Sandeman, seemed a good buy compared with most red burgundies – although Richard managed to track down a California Pinot Noir at £11.95 a bottle from Stannary Street Wine that charmed him.”
